Uncle Joe’s Secret Ingredient Garlic Bread
It’s no secret that Joe Carre makes the best garlic bread. What is a secret is that he uses…(wait for it)…MAYONNAISE! But before you go judging this indulgent approach: Try it. You’ll never turn back!

Ingredients
- 1 large baguette
- Mayo (MUST be Hellmann’s)
- Butter, maybe half a cup?
- Garlic, 4-6 cloves (eyeball it), minced or crushed into paste (garlic powder works too)
- Salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter, add garlic and heat through until fragrant. Remove from heat.
- Slice baguette lengthwise and spread a very thin layer of mayonnaise to both sides.
- Repeat with garlic butter mixture. Add salt. (Optional: add parsley and/or Parmesan cheese.)
- Place the two baguettes on foil, mayo/butter side up, and bake in the oven until warmed through, but still soft. At the end, broil on high for 30 seconds to get them browned and toasty!
- Serve alongside a delicious soup or pasta!
